Picture Book Readings

From fall to spring we offer picture book readings every other week on Monday (library Bookholzberg) and Wednesday (library Ganderkesee). The children can view the pictures on the screen while listening to the story. In between the two stories we paint or get crafty and make little things from cardboard and paper fitting the tales.

Bücherzwerge

“Bücherzwerge” is a play-time group for children under the age of 3. We sing, and play, or listen to stories together. It’s a fun time with nursery rhymes, games, and songs for toddlers.

1-2 players can try a game on our Nintendo Switch. The games change every other week. The gaming time is limited to 1 hour; controllers can be collected at the information desk.

Lesestart Niedersachsen

The main goal of Lesestart Niedersachsen is to integrate an interest in books, language, and literature from an early point in children's lives and establish them as a part of everyday family life. Therefore local libraries and pediatricians work hand-in-hand.

The pediatricians hand out bags at the U6-medical check-up containing a book and information on language development and reading promotion for toddlers.

The library supports this project by providing picture books for children under the age of 3, a Parent’s Library, and the “Bücherzwerge" playgroup.

PartnerCard

Two adult members of the same household may fill out a registration together to get a discount membership. Each person hands in a separate registration form to receive their own membership card, with which they can act independently.

Student's Center

Our teen-section offers a student's area that provides learning tools and aids for the grades 5-13, a non-fiction section covering a wide range of topics, and access to information databases designed for studying purposes.
